4 Games To Play this 4th of July Weekend

This weekend will be filled with fireworks, BBQ, sunshine and moderate amount of fun. But what else can you do than be socially active? Well play video games of course! Today I have compiled a list of 4 games that are perfect for this 4th of July weekend!

Fallout 3

Nothing says independence like a little wasteland adventuring and big yellow mutants! Fallout 3 is the perfect game for the 4th July with its alternative post-war WWII themes and of course it takes place in our nations capital. Although Washington D.C. doesn’t look exactly like it did before the bombs fell, it still makes for  countless hours of game-play and adventuring. You can now get Fallout 3 (PC) this weekend in all its Rad-roach glory for 50% off steam.

Red Faction: Guerrilla

I once heard someone say “There is no place other than earth you can celebrate the 4th of July,” well they were wrong! Warm your 4th of July weekend up with this off world game. Set on Mars in the year 2120, Red Faction: Guerrilla takes you on adventure with Alec Mason, the lead protagonist. I chose this game because our nation was built on our resistance to the British Parliament. Our nation was born out of that struggle against an oppressive government. It was only fitting to have Red Faction on this list.  Red Faction: Guerrilla is now out on Xbox 360 and PS3 for 59.99. Also recently announced were several DLC packs for RF:G. You can check out the article here.

Call of Duty 4

Call of Duty 4 is another example of a perfect game for this 4th of July. Released in 2007, Call of Duty still is one of the most played and highly bought games to date. Although the story is great the multiplayer experience is what makes this game. With fully customizable weapons and upgrades the multiplayer game mode as seen imitations by many companies seeking to find that great experience. But what makes this a 4th of July worthy game you ask? Nothing says “America F*** Yeah!” more than blowing the shit out of your friends in a Team Death Match game. It is also very patriotic to use Martyrdom and Last Stand to kill your opponent. Not only is Call of Duty 4 highly awarded game but is also fun, so that’s another reason it made on this list. What makes this even greater is that Call of Duty 4 is now priced reasonably at $39.99 at your local game store, so if you don’t have it pick it up!

Left 4 Dead

I saved this one for last just for the fact that it involves zombies and I f***ing love zombies! There is no 4th of July if the blood of a zombie has not been spilt. I don’t care if you haven’t read a word I’ve typed, ZOMBIES ARE SERIOUS BUSINESS! I don’t know what else to say really other than this game is a perfect celebration of our nations birth. Running around shooting zombies with your friends while you all watch fireworks and drink beer is just perfect. I’m sure Uncle Sam would love that you are doing your country a service by getting rid of all the zombies, right? Anyways this game made it on the list cause zombies are awesome but L4D is also a game that is really teamwork oriented and fun to play with your family. Another reason is because Left 4 Dead 2 was recently announced at E3 and that stirred some controversy amongst fans of Valve. Nothing says “America” like a little controversy right?
