It’s another good week so let’s get crackin’.
Black Widow: Deadly Origin #1 of 4: It’s been a while since Natasha’s gotten her own book and this is a nice little reminder of how she got to be the Black Widow. With Scarlett Johansson sliding into Widow’s trademark black leather for the upcoming Iron Man 2 movie next year, this little nugget will make her easier to follow. $3.99.
Captain America Reborn #4 of 5: Oooooh, juicy!! Cap is slowly being pulled back from death but who’s going to get to him first? This issue will tell you! God bless you, Ed Brubaker!! $3.99.
Deadpool #899: If I had a favorite this week it would be this comic! I haven’t LOL’d like that for a comic in a really long time. Teaming up with Hercules the pair get stuck in a labyrinth created by Arcade and Nightmare…and hilarity ensues. Definately, surely, and ABSO-FREEKIN’-LUTELY worth the $2.99 price tag!
Immortal Weapons #4 of 6: This issue takes us through the origin of Tiger’s Beautiful Daughter. If you liked Swierczynski’s Iron Fist and were sad to see it be canceled, as I was, this is a good read. Even if you just like martial arts stuff you should pick it up for $3.99.
Vengance of the Moon Knight #1 & 2: Wow…I’ve got to say that I’m really impressed with this one. I tried reading the previous Moon Knight series and wasn’t able to do it, but this is written so well and the story just sucks you in. I’ll admit that I’m kind of cheating throwing this title into the review for this week, seeing as it came out a couple weeks ago, but if this series keeps going as it has in the last two issues it’s going to be great. This’ll cost you $3.99 for issue 1 & $2.99 for issue 2.
Secret Six #15: I’m sad to no longer see Gail Simone’s name on this title, but Ostrander has done a good job with this issue. This week we get a bit of a look into Deadshot’s mind and it’s, admittedly, kind of disturbing. Hopefully this new writer can keep things interesting for the next issue too. Another $2.99.
G.I. Joe #11: Buy it. Still good, reintroduces new Joes every issue, don’t argue, just buy it. Again, $3.99.
Stumptown #1: This one caught my eye at the comic shop, so I thought I’d give it a try and now I’m really glad I did. This Greg Rucka detective story is set in western Oregon and has our heroine, Dexedrine C. Parios, looking for a runaway to pay off a debt she owes to one of the local Indian casinos. So far, so good, and I’m going to pick up the second issue of this one. This Oni Press release will set you back $3.99.

Just a minor correction. I am still the writer for Secret Six, so next issue is me writing again, but John and I are co-writing a three issue story, The Secret Six Vs. The Suicide Squad, in Suicide Squad #67 and then Secret Six #17 and #18, then you’re back to being stuck with just me.
