I will be the first to tell you that I despise the “Resident Evil” movies. Not only do they pick and choose which parts of the AMAZING story to use, but they also change an entire universe surrounding said games.
After watching all three of the movies I can honestly tell you the only parts I loved were when Mike Epps was on screen. You can usually here me yelling “GTA Mother F**ker 10 points!” randomly when playing driving games or just driving in general.
However, back to my point about those movies. I can understand basing a movie off the premise of the games, but if you aren’t going to be true to the story in which you are given then DO NOT name your movies after it. The “Resident Evil” movies were just zombie movies with little tidbits of Resident Evil mixed in.
Now of news of a fourth movie being developed, I have absolutely no intention on seeing it. Paul W.S. Anderson has ruined the potential the Resident Evil franchise could have had as a movie franchise. Hell if I were the people at Capcom I would bar him from using the Resident Evil name because of how the movies turned out.
If you’re one of the people who actually enjoyed those movies and want another one then you can look forward to Resident Evil: Afterlife to hit theaters, my fingers are crossed for a direct to DVD release, by September 17, 2010.
Does Resident Evil Have An Afterlife? It’s Possible. [Latino Review]
I’ll watch a straight to DVD release of it. lets just hope that’s the case.
