Darker Than Black: Ryūsei No Gemini EP6 Review

Post Rating

Darker Than Black: Ryūsei no Gemini is the second series that takes place two years after Hei and Yei have escaped the syndicate. On their way to mother Russia Hei encounters Suou whos family is pulled into a war between contractors and various intelligence factions.

In Episodes 1-3, you got to a sense of what was going on with Suou and her backstory as well as the introduction of some of the new characters you’ll be seeing in the series. Plus within the first 3 episodes, Suou meets Hei. The first three pretty much started off with action as well, after certain events happen that lead to Suou having to flee her home and encounter Hei. Hei having to actually bring Suou along with him and some other stuff you’d have to see yourself.

In Episodes 4 & 5, Hei has taken Suou under his wing after Suou finds out she has become a contractor and trains her. These two episodes are not excluded from action either as Hei and Suou both have to fight off one of the contractors of an intelligence faction trying to capture Hei and now Suou. At this point the episodes have been pretty action packed.

Now I went through that recap to get you a little bit caught up on what is kinda going on before I dive into number 6. If you haven’t see the series yet and possibly in the middle of watching the first series, you might want to stay away from this and many other reviews. Now that is out of the way, on to the 6th episode in the Ryusei No Gemini series.

In episode 6, Hei and July (along with Suou) are sent out on a mission to take down a metal container housing Izanami. During the mission Hei, who falls into a trap by getting on the wrong truck realizes after all who was in the container. This episode contains about 2 fight scenes that are pretty medium sized and 1 fight scene that involves outside interference! None the less, they were done pretty well. The episode didn’t give me the feeling of wanting to turn it off and did the job that most anime’s in the first 6 episodes fail to do when it comes to action…keep that same action through to atleast the 10th episode.

We’re just halfway into the series which is set for 12 episodes at the moment. With the way everything is going I hope it goes on pass 12. A lot can change in the next 6 episodes though, and I will be here to give you blow by blow to what happens. If you haven’t seen this series yet, YOU NEED TO GET TO IT NOW! For those who’ve seen 1-5, you need to go download, stream, whatever way you watch Ryusei no Gemini, go watch this episode now!
