With the media looking for all sorts of reasons and scapegoats to censors our films and video games, this one could take the cake. 13 year old Cindy Farms, of Bismarck, North Dakota is not a happy camper. Yesterday, she and her 2 year old Siberian husky, Nanook, sat together to watch a pirated version of the well received CG animal film “Bolt“; which she had received from her uncle. We who have owned pets may notice at times it looks as if our pets are watching the TV with us. Nanook was watching TV, and Bolt became his influence. Cindy had this to say to the local news.
During the movie [Bolt], Nanook sat at my side. While I was watching, he kept doing that thing dogs do when they turn their head sideways. I thought it was cute. Later on when I took him for a walk while we were crossing the street a car came. Nanook Stopped then put his head down, just like Bolt. I tried to pull him to keep walking, but he wouldn’t move. The car stopped, and he placed his feet and started barking at it. It was crazy.
Cindy’s parents have placed the dog in pet therapy, hoping to convince Nanook that Bolt isn’t a real dog. Apparently dogs are smarter than we give them credit for.
Now we don’t only have to censor what our children watch, but what out pets watch as well. Next thing we’ll hear about is a rat slitting A families throat after playing a video game. The governments are going to have a field day with this one. But isn’t the real issue the pirated film?
Will you be censoring what your pet is watching?
