With January 2010 only a hop and skip away, the hype, press releases and exhibitors lists for CES continue to grow. International CES may be every electronic junkie’s dream come true, but where did it come from, and where is it going?
CES is produced by the Consumer Electronics Association (CEA), which is a collaboration of over 2,000 electronics companies from Apple Computer to Walgreens (a complete list of associated companies can be found here).

The VCR debuted at CES in 1970.
2010 International CES will no doubt continue to be an impressive display of gadgets, electronics and five-years-from-now-must-have-items, this year also guarentees their largest display of gaming electronics yet. Expanding the total gaming electronic exhibition area to over 13,000 square feet, exhibitors will include: Microsoft and Sony along with D-Box, DDR (Dance, Dance Revolution), Guillemot, Iron Will Creations, LEGO Systems A/S, PC Gaming Alliance, Microsoft Games for Windows and Tritton.
What an insightful and exhilarating piece. I bet the writer of this masterwork is very attractive and beefy.
Great article. Makes me want to hit CES and see what else in store for next year.
It’s cool to see that games are becoming more accepted as a part of the rest of the electronics industry as a whole and not as just a toy. I wonder if this will have an impact on how electronics industry views games as a whole over time.
Wow HDTV has been around since 1998? I’d hate to see one of the first ones compared to the newer ones. Also, I can’t wait until I can have my toilet automatically unpause my Xbox 360 after it flushes! Awesome!
Great info. I love CES, and I am hoping to make it out there again next year.
