We’ve come to the most epic showdown of showdowns in these two episodes. It’s not without flashbacks and thats how I start off this review for Episodes 135 and 136, because both are semi-Flashback episodes. In all honesty, they should have put these two together as a special instead of splitting the two up. Okay, maybe not because it takes until 136 for anything to actually HAPPEN. ANYWAYS, Shippuden is in the 6th Season right now and in the midst of a sibling rivalry between Sasuke Uchiha and Itachi Uchiha…at least in these two episodes and the last 2-3 episodes leading up to this awesome moment.

Starting with 135 first, this episodes pretty much gives you an episode long history lesson on what happened with the Uchiha Clan and what drove Itachi to killing his entire clan in cold blood. While they have flashed back to these moments many times before in previous episodes, you see this happen AGAIN, in its somewhat entirety. As much as it pains me to see flashback episodes, this one kept my interest throughout. It could have been because it was the full story on what happened that ended the Uchiha clan and how Itachi got the Mangekyo Sharingan, as well as another mystery that arose amongst the clan.

Episode 136 is the episode that starts off the possible final encounter between Itachi and Sasuke, the fight to end all, the rivalry will end. Actually not in this episode. This episode is a slight flashback before the action begins, but it does the job to build up the fight and by next episode, we should see Itachi and Sasuke going hardcore ninjas! Throwing chairs and tables and ninja stars and stuff at each other.
When it comes down to it, 135 and 136 serve their purpose. These two episodes give you a history lesson and give you the first of 2 episodes that will house a powerhouse battle of the genjutsus. Give it a scan, you might find something that interest you.
SHIPPUUUUUUDEN!
