Pazzah! Another new Nerdiest-Kids Original Article. In early 2005, Youtube was launched and changed the internet forever. By allowing users to upload, view, and share clips of practically anything; it became a website that everyone wanted to be apart of. Since its launch, the number of users on the site is remarkable when you look at the stats. The ‘tube’ has truly become a place where people can achieve ‘e-fame’. One individual that has been the talk of many viewers over the past month is Adutko. With his knack for making a remix out of practically anything, our interest peaked in him quite a bit. Thanks to modern technology, we were able to ask a few questions to him. Catch the interview after the jump.
NK: First off, we’d like the thank you for taking the time to answer our questions. When did you first start making remixes and posting them on Youtube?
Adutko: No problem, thank you for the opportunity. My very first remix was posted on January 10, 2009.
NK: One of your most recognized remixes is ‘My Name is Boxxy‘. How long did it initially take you to produce that remix?
Adutko: I was actually quite surprised at how quickly I was able to get that remix out the door. Literally everything from the sequencing, to the sound bites, to even video editing was done from about 11pm to 3am that night.
NK: Now aside from what the internet thinks, would you like Boxxy to make a new video in order to remix it?
Adutko: Sure. It would be fun, I think.
NK: Is there anything, such a band, that has inspired you in the making these mixes?
Adutko: I’ve heard people compare me to Swede Mason (who I would recommend you all check out on YouTube or MySpace), though this wasn’t really my inspiration. I’d say I was more influenced by a French turntablist by the name of Wax Tailor whom a friend had recently turned me onto.
NK: Out of all the remixes currently on your account, which one is your favorite? Least favorite?…if you have one.
Adutko: I really enjoy different things about each of them. It is quite difficult to pick a favorite.
NK: Which remix spent the most time on the cutting room floor? (Longest to edit)
Adutko: Infomercial Mayhem, definitely. This mix was comprised of three different video sources, so extracting my sound bites and editing the final video took almost three times the usual length. If I remember correctly, this mix took about 4 nights to complete.
NK: Are there currently any new projects that you’re working on?
Adutko: I’m currently in the beginning stages of working on a collaboration video with a group of comedians on YouTube known as Dirt Humor. This will be my first remix where footage will be shot exclusively for it.
NK: Just a heads up, over at our forums, we’re currently holding a small remix contest for a video of one of our good friends. Any interest?
Adutko: It certainly does sound like fun. I think I just spent far too much time looking at all the mixes going on over there! Very nice.
Again, we thank Adutko for taking time to answer our questions, and can’t wait to see what he has in store for us in the near future. Head over to his Youtube page to see all his current remixes, and adding him on Myspace wouldn’t hurt either.
