Rumor Mill: Tech Edition

macproI have two spicy tech rumors for you guys so make sure you have some milk or a piece of bread near by…sorry for the bad joke.

First up Apple may be looking to pull some strings and be the first company to use Intel’s six-core Gulftown processor in the next Mac Pro.

The report said that the new Mac Pro will have a modified motherboard with a 10Gbit/second Ethernet port. In addition, it is said to support 8GB and 16GB RAM modules, an increase from the 4GB offered today. That would mean the system could carry up to 128GB of RAM.

If this turns out to be true then Apple will have a slight advantage in being the first company to use the new processor and sell it.

Next up for all you console gamers out there. Rumor circling the world wide web is that ATI will be making the processor for the next gen Microsoft console.

This one is harder to believe seeing as how both companies have stated that their consoles will have long life expectancy’s. I mean the PS2 last just about nine whole years before the PS3 was released.
