Every summer there’s usually one film that instantly becomes both a hit and a cash-cow at the box office. Commonly, an action flick takes the title of “Summer Blockbuster”. This year, while that might still ring true, action might have some competition. A couple short hours ago, 500 Days of Summer debuted at the Sundance Film Festival. With lead roles played by Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Zooey Deschanel, the film has already received a lot of credit by critics that have seen it. Directed by Mark Webb, the movie follows Tom (Gordon-Levitt) and Summer (Deschanel) during a period of 500 days in Los Angeles. Expect this to be “The Date Movie” of the summer. The first trailer for the film seems to undersell the movie a bit, but that can be attributed to the lackluster voice-over. Check it out below.
