The Venue: Paramore & No Doubt

Post Rating

no-doubt-on-tourThis past Friday, I went to the PNC Bank Art Center in New Jersey to catch one of the summer’s biggest tours. Through the rain, lightning, and mass of teens, I was able to make it out of the Paramore & No Doubt concert alive.I feel really bad that I didn’t pay much attention to the opening act because of the rain and lightning, but from what I heard they were pretty good. Hailing from the ATL and I think introduced by Andre 3000 of Outkast fame, Janelle Monae had a fun sound and the lead siparamorenger sounded just like Gwen Stefani.

Up next and thankfully rain free was Paramore. Now this was my first real time seeing them perform. Last year I was able to catch them at Bamboozle, however I left in the middle of their set to get a good spot for Jimmy Eat World. Playing most of their Riot! album Paramore was pretty amazing. They kept the crowd, basically anyone with a lawn seat who got poured on, entertained and singing along.

Finally, No Doubt took the stage. Little side note, it was at this same venue about 11 years ago when I attended my first concert, which happened to be Weezer and No Doubt. Now I might not be 100%, but I believe that they basically played the same set list from when I saw them in the beginning of May at Bamboozle. The only real difference was a set design and a fan requested song. Other than that, it was pretty much the same thing. I have no complaints because No Doubt put on an amazing show and you should honestly attend a show. You will be entertained.

With the rain and crazy lightning aside, this was a great show. Seeing Paramore for the first real time and being able to see No Doubt again is another memorable concert in my books.
