Looking for that special something for the everlovin’ toy collector in your life? We here at Nerdiest-Kids know just the places to go and just the things to get for that special geeky someone and here’s a breakdown of some of the best!
Marvel & DC Superhero Collections (lead figurines): These kick ass lead miniatures are made in the UK and come with their own magazine; with a complete history of the character you’re buying to boot. From the first comic issue they were seen in to the latest, and everywhere in between, they’re the perfect gift for any hardcore comic book fan. They range in price from $15.99 to $35.99 for the special edition figures, and unfortunately can only be found on independent biding sites like Amazon and Ebay, or your local comic book shop. These figures are hand crafted and worth every penny, especially if that special someone has one or two characters they really would love to know more about! For adults only, though, because of the lead.
Mighty Muggs: Most people have seen these little critters at their local comic shop or different stores around the mall, but how many are there really? Why, a crap ton, of course! These characters come in all kinds of forms, from Star Wars characters to Marvel comics, Transformers to G.I Joe. If you know where to go you can even find custom ones! Start with the local comic book store, then work your way to gift shops around the mall like
Spencers and Hot Topic. Target, KB Toys, K-Mart, WalMart, Fred Meyer, and Toys R’ Us should also have a small stock, too, but Amazon.com, eBay, and ToysRUs.com have a wide selection of Mighty Muggs to choose from. A personal favorite is PastGenerationToys.com for a huge number of choices. For custom stuff there’s actually a website called CustomMightyMuggs.net where you can find some good and some not so good ones. Or if you’re really artistic you can buy a blank slate Mighty Mugg and do it yourself! Nothing says “I love you” like a home made Deadpool, am I right? Prices on these can range from around $7.95 to almost $100.00 for custom made stuff.
ThinkGeek.com: Every nerd knows and loves ThinkGeek for it’s shirts, gadgets, accessories, and toys. Some of our favorites this year are the plush microbes, Back to the Future Delorian with lights and sound, World of Warcraft action figures, and TaunTaun sleeping bag. This site has tons of stuff for any nerd or geek, big and small!!
DiamondSelectToys.com: Toys and replicas galore!! You want Star Trek? You want Battlestar Galactica? How about Transformers, Indiana Jones, or Marvel Comics? Diamond Select Toys has ‘em and most you can order directly through their website. If you find something you like that says “unavailable”, simply check out Suncoast movie stores, Spencers, Hot Topic, or Hastings! Don’t have one of these near by? Google “diamond select toys” and a whole plethora of web sites that sell their merchandise will be revealed to you!!
SideshowCollectibles.com: Got a lot of money to spend for the nerd who has everything? Check out Sideshow Collectibles for beautifully crafted Star Wars, Marvel, Lord of the Rings, and more statues and figurines. These figures will cost you a pretty penny, but they are so worth it if you can afford the price. They also sell comic #1 issues masterfully framed and perfect for hanging on the wall next to that decked out computer. Prices range from $50 for the smaller items all the way up to the thousands for rare and more intricate items.
UncommonGoods.com: A lot of the fun stuff on this website has practical use, and for a nerd or a geek it’s absolutely brilliant! For instance, you can get your hands on a Ray Gun Pen that would look oh so diabolical on a nerdy desk! Perhaps a Russian Spy Book Camera for taking pictures of co-workers or unsuspecting friends. Or what about a Rubix Cube Salt & Pepper Mill? All items can be ordered directly through the website.

Available at ThinkGeek.com
Star Trek Toys: Diamond Select Toys has some awesome replicas and action figures for the Trek fan, including a full size replica of Captain Kirk’s chair!! Has your nerd always wanted a tribble? Don’t be sad that the Las Vegas Hilton is closed and you can’t get one there, because Think Geek has taken up the slack and you can get one in the size you want for $14.99-$19.99. This isn’t the only awesomely Trekkie thing Think Geek has either! Just type in “star trek” under their search engine and you’ll find Trek wall decals, Red Shirt Calogne, and even Next Gen Light Covers. Not satisfied? Want something truly original and Trekish? Go to StarTrek.com, you slacker!
For Gamers: Don’t think I left you out! What does every gamer need to feel comfortable and thereby be ready to kick ass and take names at Call of Duty or Left 4 Dead? Why a gaming chair, of course! VideoGameChairs.com has a massive selection of gaming chairs including racing chairs, rockers, and beanbags. Some chairs even have speakers built into them! Mighty Muggs are awesome! I got 3. They need to make more.
when I think sonic the hedgehog this short series is what I think of and I always remember the theme song the fastest thing alive, any other cartoon in my opinion didn’t stack up to this one.
